Fill our hearts and minds with your gifts of faith, hope, and love. May our conversations with people of every language and culture around us witness to your grace and mercy. We dedicate ourselves and our offerings to your good purposes in the world through our church\u2019s mission by the power of your Spirit. We pray in Jesus\u2019 name. Amen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u266b<strong>OFFERTORY MUSIC:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>+<\/strong>\u266b<strong>DOXOLOGY: <\/strong>#95 &#8211; Praise God, From Whom All Blessings Flow<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>READING THE WORD:<\/strong><br><br><strong>Old Testament: Numbers 11:24-29 (CEB)<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So Moses went out and told the people the&nbsp;Lord\u2019s words. He assembled seventy men from the people\u2019s elders and placed them around the tent.&nbsp;The&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;descended in a cloud, spoke to him, and took some of the spirit that was on him and placed it on the seventy elders. When the spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but only this once.&nbsp;Two men had remained in the camp, one named Eldad and the second named Medad, and the spirit rested on them. They were among those registered, but they hadn\u2019t gone out to the tent, so they prophesied in the camp.&nbsp;A young man ran and told Moses, \u201cEldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.\u201d Joshua, Nun\u2019s son and Moses\u2019 assistant since his youth, responded, \u201cMy master Moses, stop them!\u201d Moses said to him, \u201cAre you jealous for my sake? If only all the&nbsp;Lord\u2019s people were prophets with the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;placing his spirit on them!\u201d<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>+<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>New Testament: Acts 2:1-21 (CEB) <\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Pentecost Day arrived, they were all together in one place.&nbsp;Suddenly a sound from heaven like the howling of a fierce wind filled the entire house where they were sitting.&nbsp;They saw what seemed to be individual flames of fire alighting on each one of them.&nbsp;They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages as the Spirit enabled them to speak. There were pious Jews from every nation under heaven living in Jerusalem.&nbsp;When they heard this sound, a crowd gathered. They were mystified because everyone heard them speaking in their native languages.&nbsp;They were surprised and amazed, saying, \u201cLook, aren\u2019t all the people who are speaking Galileans, every one of them?&nbsp;How then can each of us hear them speaking in our native language?&nbsp;Parthians, Medes, and Elamites; as well as residents of Mesopotamia, Judea, and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,&nbsp;Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the regions of Libya bordering Cyrene; and visitors from Rome (both Jews and converts to Judaism),&nbsp;Cretans and Arabs\u2014we hear them declaring the mighty works of God in our own languages!\u201d&nbsp;They were all surprised and bewildered. Some asked each other, \u201cWhat does this mean?\u201d&nbsp;Others jeered at them, saying, \u201cThey\u2019re full of new wine!\u201d Peter stood with the other eleven apostles. He raised his voice and declared, \u201cJudeans and everyone living in Jerusalem! Know this! Listen carefully to my words!&nbsp;These people aren\u2019t drunk, as you suspect; after all, it\u2019s only nine o\u2019clock in the morning!&nbsp;Rather, this is what was spoken through the prophet Joel: In the last days, God says, \u201cI will pour out my Spirit on all people.&nbsp;Your sons and daughters will prophesy.&nbsp;Your young will see visions.&nbsp;Your elders will dream dreams. Even upon my servants, men and women,&nbsp;I will pour out my Spirit in those days,&nbsp;and they will prophesy. I will cause wonders to occur in the heavens above&nbsp;and signs on the earth below,&nbsp;blood and fire and a cloud of smoke. The sun will be changed into darkness,&nbsp;and the moon will be changed into blood,&nbsp;before the great and spectacular day of the Lord comes. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The word of God, for the People of God,<strong> <\/strong><strong>Thanks be to God!
