✟ Welcome & Announcements
✟ Opening Prayer: Rev. Allan Wintersteen
♬ Hymn #158: Come, Christians, Join to Sing
1 Come, Christians, join to sing:
Alleluia! Amen!
loud praise to Christ our King:
Alleluia! Amen!
Let all, with heart and voice,
before his throne rejoice;
praise is his gracious choice.
Alleluia! Amen!
2 Come, lift your hearts on high:
Alleluia! Amen!
Let praises fill the sky:
Alleluia! Amen!
He is our guide and friend;
to us he’ll condescend;
his love shall never end:
Alleluia! Amen!
3 Praise yet the Lord again:
Alleluia! Amen!
Life shall not end the strain:
Alleluia! Amen!
On heaven’s blissful shore
his goodness we’ll adore,
singing forevermore:
Alleluia! Amen!
✟ Call to Worship:
L: We gather in the presence of God, who created us, loves us, and calls us by name.
P: On this Father’s Day we give thanks for fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, mentors, and all who guide us with wisdom and care.
L: Like a loving parent, God nurtures us, teaches us, forgives us, and leads us in the right way.
P: We will worship the Lord with gladness and joy. We seek God’s grace, strength, and peace.
♬ Hymn #189: Fairest Lord Jesus
2 Fair are the meadows,
fairer still the woodlands,
robed in the blooming garb of spring:
Jesus is fairer,
Jesus is purer,
who makes the woeful heart to sing.
3 Fair is the sunshine,
fairer still the moonlight,
and all the twinkling starry host:
Jesus shines brighter,
Jesus shines purer
than all the angels heaven can boast.
4 Beautiful Savior!
Lord of all the nations!
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor,
praise, adoration,
now and forevermore be thine.
✟ Little Things Message: Rev. Allan Wintersteen
♬ Hymn #191: Jesus Loves Me
1 Jesus loves me, this I know,
for the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to him belong;
they are weak, but he is strong.
Refrain:
Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.
✟ Congregational Joys and Concerns
✟ Pastoral Prayer & Lord’s Prayer: Rev. Allan Wintersteen
✟ Offertory Prayer:
Loving God, you brought us peace and welcomed us into your family. As we present our tithes and offerings, we give thanks that we are no longer strangers, but fellow citizens and members of your household. Use these gifts to build our community into a place where you live through the Spirit. Amen.
♬ Offertory Music
♬ Doxology #95:
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
praise Him, all creatures here below;
praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Amen.
✟ Reading the Word:
Old Testament: Psalm 133 (CEB)
Look at how good and pleasing it is when families live together as one! It is like expensive oil poured over the head, running down onto the beard— Aaron’s beard!— which extended over the collar of his robes. It is like the dew on Mount Hermon streaming down onto the mountains of Zion, because it is there that the Lord has commanded the blessing: everlasting life.
✟ New Testament: Ephesians 2:17–22 (CEB)
When he came, he announced the good news of peace to you who were far away from God and to those who were near. We both have access to the Father through Christ by the one Spirit. So now you are no longer strangers and aliens. Rather, you are fellow citizens with God’s people, and you belong to God’s household. As God’s household, you are built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. The whole building is joined together in him, and it grows up into a temple that is dedicated to the Lord. Christ is building you into a place where God lives through the Spirit.
L: The word of God, for the People of God,
P: Thanks be to God! AMEN.
♬ Gloria Patri #70:
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen. Amen.
✟ Today’s Message: Members One of Another
✟ Service for Receiving New Members
L: Usually in my sermons I talk about a story from the Bible but that wasn’t so today. Today the sermon was more of a topical sermon and the topic was all about being the church and joining the church. And for good reason. It is happening because of Matt. He had the idea that this would be a good moment to recognize and bring into our congregation a new member. And that new member is Mason Smith.
L: Mason will be reaffirming baptismal vows previously made . And when Mason comes to church he always brings his family with him. So for the moment it would be good to have his wife Stacy and his kids Henry and Alice come up here and join him.
L: Mason, I am going to ask you some basic questions about Christianity and your role in the church. Please answer them in the affirmative by saying “I do”.
L: Do you confess faith in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior and do you desire above all else to live for him?
New Member: I Do.
L: Do you desire to join this congregation known as the Community United Methodist Church of Keenesburg, Colorado?
New Member: I Do.
L: Do you promise to support this congregation by your faithful attendance at its services?
New Member: I Do.
L: Will you faithfully offer your talents for the ministry of this community?
New Member: I Do.
L: Will you give of your means as the Lord has blessed you, in gratitude and faith?
New Member: I Do.
L: We give hearty thanks to God who has opened your heart and mind to see the glory and beauty of Jesus Christ and has led you to unite with us as a church.
L: Members of the household of faith, I commend to your love and care Mason…
Congregation: Yes, we will, with God’s help!
L: Let us receive our new member with gladness and a warm round of applause.
✟ Blessing & Benediction: Rev. Allan Wintersteen

Go now in peace, never be afraid

Go now in love, and show you believe.
Reach out to others so all the world can see.
God will there watching from above.
Go now in peace, in faith and in love.
